Members danika
Listen, MC is more legend as you said and definitely living off past success but to get back on track, GD definitely borrowed lots of MC. Unless it's an actual legal issue, "borrowed" is basically a matter of judgement. And whether "borrowed" is good or bad is simply a matter of how you choose to characterize it. "Ripped off" is bad, "in the tradition of" is good, but that's all just semantics to support your opinion of an artist.

Members deanmass
I have, I get it.... I am still looking forward to the new Green Day...I just view MC and GD as two totally different classes of bands.

Moderators Lee Knight Posted April 20, 2009 Moderators Share Posted April 20, 2009 Yeah, Billy Joe has a thing for lifting melodies. American Idiot is rife with echoes of other songs. Funny enough, what impresses me is the fact that he tends to lift a lot of old stuff. Not Crue old, but 50's old. I love that album though. Really great stuff. I've always enjoyed his persona. Tightly wound little SOB spewing off catchy punk. What's not to like? Great drumming too.
Members cooterbrown
It will suck, just like American Idiot did. You swallow, however.
