I want something that'll give me a bit a really high powered tone that'll kick ass for thrash metal, but be able to be backed off for a cool ballsy bluesy tone. IDK if I want a tighter low end or a looser low end. I don't want to spend more then $70. I'll be using the money I get from my birthday (which is in 2 days. ). The reason I don't want to spend a lot on a pickup is because I want to change some of the electronics, too. I want to put a new 1 meg pot in it, and some new tone caps. I'll also be putting locking tuners from GFS on my LP. I was looking at some the GFS pickups like the VEH or the Crunchy Pats. Is there any other brands that cost as much as GFS and would good to look into? Also, are the VEH and Crunchy Pats coil tappable? I'd throw a push-pull 1 meg pot in for even more versatility.
