Members blue2blue
Hmm... I like the idea of Tunecore (and in fact just prepaid for an online store distribution in one of their holiday specials). But the fact they're getting in bed with Universal makes me decidedly nervous. As someone who watched the old Universal-Vivendi destroy the old Mp3.com through mismanagement and neglect, even when it was on the verge of breaking even on a regular monthly basis (all but unheard of for large 'net ventures in those days), this does not in any way automatically strike me as a positive sign. By a stretch. Great. So now a hundred million artists can sell 10 cd's and 20 downloads each! The more the merrier, as far as I'm concerned. It's not like most of the utter crap on the major labels brings anything to the cultural table. The problem with what you hear on the radio and TV isn't from micro-indie and DIY types, now, is it?
