Members Lex.Luthier
So I have a lot of guitar parts lying around the house from various old projects that I'm trying to use up. Included in these parts is a maple American Standard Stratocaster neck and two black Dimarzio humbuckers. Can anyone suggest a good body/pickguard combo that will go well with the black humbuckers? ATM I'm leaning towards:

Members cross.bones
The pickguard colour is more important than the body IMHO. Though a Black/black/black would look sweet. go to http://www.nymphusa.com/kisekae/kis_logon.asp?p1=strat8 and mock some up!

Members cratz2
I've had the hots to build up a strat with two HBs... Either a matte black body and a glossy black pick guard or a gloss black body and a matte black pickguard.
Members Prages
Whatever color you want. I generally like black pickups on a white or pearl pickguard. I also have black pickups on a tort pickguard.
Members Muddslide
I like vintage white body, white/black/white pickguard and black pickups and vol/tone knobs. Though I think this lools better with a RW fingerboard...
Members Charley_5054
black on black ala Gilmour Gilmour has white pickups ! I'd say a deep red with a black three ply pickguard.

Eventually I'll put the new pickups, with black covers in the aged pearl pickguard. That's one of my favorite combos ever.

And what makes them look good, IMO is contrast. So my vote for guard color with black pups is white! Notice how the stock white pups get lost on my LTDII in that pic. Members Alecto
I'm personally fond of a black pickguard and either natural or butterscotch paint job with black pickups, but that's just me.
