Members vintage clubber
good question...I think the set on this guitar hasn't been changed since I installed these pickups five years ago...
Members m90guy
I use DR strings and on infrequently used guitars I can get a year out of em, keeping em clean you know.
Members EADGBE
Strings will last about 2-3 years sitting on a shelf. After that they start to lose their springiness.
Members Orange Jackson
If there is rust on the G string it is time to change them, other then that, it would be premature, imo.
Members cratz2
I went a year without changing the strings on a guitar I played somewhat frequently... mostly as a test. I do wipe my strings down after playing. Always. I'd say I rarely change my strings more often than every 2 or 3 months, but I doubt I'd go more than 6 months without changing them on a guitar I ever played. They'll still play, but they'll start to feel gritty against the frets which is what bugs me. I prefer how 1 week old strings sound to brand new strings. Members soundcreation
Depends where you live. I live in a place with frequent 70% humidity and I can tell you that a brand new set of any maker's strings that aren't coated, will start to show rust on them with in 2 weeks. I could put a set on and not even touch the guitar and that would only buy me another week. Elixers get me a couple months and are by far the best I've tried. So I would say that if you live somewhere with low humidity (and don't have sweaty hands like me..lol) a normal pack might last you longer. But they will still go dead after a few months.
