Members smorgdonkey
Viper 400 with 81 in bridge and 60 in neck running 18 volts: 1984 Kramer Pacer Patent Pending with set of EMG from back in '84:
Members cratz2
LTD EC1000 in vintage black. I'm not an EMG hater, but I planed on either switching out for passives, or putting the 60 in the bridge and getting an 89R for the neck. I think it sounds great as is. And I mostly play clean or with low gain.
Members aliensporebomb
Second shot under higher levels of light: Thanks for the info regarding the 18volt mod, it seems easier than previously indicated.

Members peavey_impact
In. I absolutely love the 85/SA set in my Cali!! PS white/ivory EMG's have more tone
Members sneakerpimp
maybe some can already see, but i switched pickup positions from 81b/85n to 85b/81n. i'm more of a rhythm player and like the heavier sound of the 85 in the bridge position. I also switched my 81 out for an 85 in the bridge and never looked back I like it better for rhythm and leads.

Members aliensporebomb
I want Sneakerpimp's camera. What utterly clear bright shots. What are you using to take the shots of the SG?
Members hellion_213
^^^Agreed! Very clear shots! Most definitely Not a cell phone. I think I'm going to try the 18v mod tonight, and maybe switch my 81 and 85. What, if anything, Could I lose switching the two?

What, if anything, Could I lose switching the two? yes, let us know how the 18v mod goes, clips if possible. i recently saw o-scope style graphs that show the much reduced clipping but haven't heard samples proving it. Members Kellanium
you cant, you have to solder, but its not hard and completely reversible I just did this to my Schecter, it really does wonders for the tone. makes it much more lively and dynamic and all that jazz. I have a friend that has some HZs in an older Schecter. I think they are about the lowest output HBs in the HZ line. I think they sound great. Not curl-my-toes great but definitely better-than-a-lot-of-folks-would-believe great. I'm assuming the Hammett model had some of the hottest ones which I hear mostly bad things about.
