Members JC-TONEQUEST
I recently installed a Chrome PU cover on a Gibson 500T Bridge PU and I am getting High End Feedback. Is there anyway to rememdy this? Is this because the PU is too hot? What would be causing this? Thanks!

Members Meowy
Did you pot it? At the very least put a strip of masking tape inside the cover on the non-screw side to isolate the poles
Members Dougie.Douglas
Needs to be potted.
Members metalheadUK
I have heard of this problem when people have just put the cover on without soldering it...the cover can vibrate and cause problems. But some pickups sound so good because they are slightly microphonic and potting will lose that. Have you soldered the covers on?
Members bryvincent
don't forget to clamp it too when soldering it.
Members Wyatt
It's microphonic. Something is vibrating against the cover. In short, the cover isn't installed correctly. It has to go on smooth and even with equal pressure across the top as it's installed. Taping the inside oes help prefer some contact that might lead to microphonics. Then it should be soldered into place and as an extra precaution, once you have tested and retested it's microphonic free, you could wax pot it.
