Members Invader.CC Posted June 5, 2010 Members Share Posted June 5, 2010 I used a EHX Soul Preacher that did a great job of clarifying single notes when using Fuzz...I now have a Damage control Liquid Blues pedal that has a tube compressor built in so it rendered the soul preacher unnecessary.. The VS adds a little character to your tone which isn't necessarily a bad thing. It just depends on if you want it too or not. also i don't mean to hijack the thread just a quick question. Does anyone have a guess as to what pickups that guy was using in that strat. I'm trying to get a feel for what i want in a strat. I think i know what they are i just want to make sure. Members strtdv Posted June 5, 2010 Members Share Posted June 5, 2010 I like the dynacomp for that, because it sounds like a dynacomp. It's not the most transparent, but IMO its a great sound. I am not using it currently. I like all the Visual Sound pedals. I was not aware that their compressor has a noise gate in it. I might have to check that out.
