Members Flatspotter Posted July 27, 2010 Members Share Posted July 27, 2010 Got a PRS SE Soapbar II today! It's Blue Matteo (whatever that means), and has PRS's version of P90s. I've been gassing for a P90 guitar (thanks to you guys), and the SEs get rave reviews, so I took the plunge. For $445, they're hard to beat. The neck is super fast, and the fretwork is excellent. The neck is a bit fatter than I'm used to at the peghead end, but not so much as to be uncomfortable. The pickups sound good, but are very noisy with distortion (no surprise there), so they've got to go. I have an overwhelming urge to slam a pair of Lindy Fralin hum-cancelling P90s in there. Anyone have any experience with these? This guitar plays so well, I'm beginning to understand what all the fuss about PRS is. I can't imagine what their big-dollar axes must be like, but for those prices, I don't expect I'll be finding out. At any rate, I am loving this soapbar! P.S.
