Members fusebop
If you please. I worked hard and learned a lot (but there'sstill a long way to go) doing every little bit by myself. Some people at GJ and in the FX section seem to like it a lot. It's somewhere between instrumental rock and fusion. Not virtuoso stuff by a long shot.Primal Yawn - Friendly Green Foam If you like/hate it, please say why! Your feedback will giveme a chance to make better music next time I sit downwith a batch of ideas.
Members fusebop
*bump* C'mon guys, it isn't that bad. Give it a spin! Visit my reverbnation or something. Then download the whole thing. Somebody even said that my stuff resembles Jeff Beck's. Absurd, I agree, but the comparison didn't just come from nowhere. Sorry if bumping this sort of thing is considered rude.
Members FoonkySteve
Hey fusebop, hate to see you hanging there. I have no access to any streaming whatsoever from work, but ill make a point of checking out a tune or 2 when i get home. Good on you for putting it out there though! Members seven58
I'm downloading it now. I will give it a listen in a few days.
Members bruto
Fuse, I'd recommend that you load your songs in SoundClick or SoundCloud. Both are good MP3 hosting sites and will allow potential fans the opportunity to quickly audition a few songs. Then if people want your album, they can download and expand the .rar file. Just my nickel's worth of free advice.
Members FoonkySteve
Sorry Fusebop, Im home now, but i cant play the file for some reason.Sorry dude
Members fusebop
@FoonkysteveIt's a .rar archive which needs to be extracted first (sorry if this is somethingyou know very well) - the actual songs are inside the file you've downloaded(or at least I hope so). Winrar is a useful piece of software. In the meantime, bruto, thanks for the suggestion. I made a Soundclickpage and uploaded three songs. Members bsman
I just listened to "7 Lions" and enjoyed it a lot! It sort of takes me back to the mid-70s when I was listening to a fair amount of Weather Report and Return to Forever. Very fusion-licious! Members bsman
Just finished listening to all three songs. I enjoyed this very much. Well done, I am in awe and envious!
Members d_dave_c
Three? I got thirteen. Nice playing and production. I liked it a lot. Have It Your Way and Conalua's Prayer were probably my favorites. Tell us about the tools - what guitars/amps/fx did you use for the different parts? Thanks for sharing your work over here, too. Members fusebop
@bsman - thanks for the kind words! The 70's fusion is heaven to me too, although I can only wish for that kind of technical ability. @d_dave_c I used a '52.RI telecaster for everything. The cheapest Yamaha precision bass I could find as well - RBX I think. The amp - would you believe it - Roland Cube 60 all the way. Blackface and Marshall modeling, and a Fulltone fuzz (Tone Bender & Octafuzz, which sounds awesome in the regular non-octave mode too). Now, I realized too late how dumb I was: I liked the Cube 60 sounds (although its recording output is a bit too noisy) but what would have really rocked is splitting the signal using a DI-box - which would allow simultaneous recording of the clean and the modeled tones. The cleans could then be re-amped in a studio with pro gear/software (I have a friend who works in a nice space and is allowed to stay overnight once in a while). Live and learn, heh. Please, I'd be more than happy to answer any further questions. This is my first effort, after all.
Members FoonkySteve
Wow! Just had a listen to the 3tracks on soundclick! All sound awesome! 7Lions - are you using a slide or fretless guitar there? or is that just some of the best bendcontrol/vibrato ive heard in a long time? Great Job, love the structures on all the songs, and the crazy sections. You have a great ear for a melody! Diagonal lady - (i hope thats the right title? The 2nd one?) Phenomenal bass playing! Great Feel and tone! Anchorage - Love the displacement in the end section, i was trying to count all sorts then decided it was in 4/4 but heavily displaced? Yes? No? My only criticism, (who the hell am i to say this????) would be that the drums on 7lions could do with a bit more volume in the mix. Other than that; - great stuff man, and i am insanely jealous of your creativity!
Members mistersully
listened on soundclick... cool stuff... diagonal lady is my favourite... i agree the drums need to come up in seven-lions.. as does the bass
Members bruto
Thanks for opening a SoundClick page - it's just a simpler way to get heard. I really like your songs. Nice bit of fusion / progressive rock. You use some cool pretty cool scales and chord progressions. I'm going to download your RAR file, burn in onto a CD, and listen to it in my car. BTW, here's my SoundClick page: Melodious Rex It's mostly synth and keyboard stuff.

Members fusebop
Thanks all, especially FoonkySteve. I'll raise a toast of Ardbeg 10y in your name. are you using a slide or fretless guitar there? or is that just some of the best bendcontrol/vibrato ive heard in a long time? Just halfstep bends there, and I'm not especially proud of them. I'll think I'll be stepping down from .11's very soon. As for "anchorage" - who cares? It's some weird cross between afro-style 6/8 and 4/4. I'm not counting... although, perhaps, I should be?... As always, notify me if this kind of bumping is bad form. I'm just thrilled to see somebody show interest in my music.
