In 2009 I finished my first three guitars. It seems like you used sanding sealer over the raw bodies, then painted, then more sanding sealer, then nitro? My girlfriend is an artist (actually she does really similar styles to those surf casters) and I got her a bass for her birthday. But, as you say, the Cliff's Notes version is: Bare wood > Nitro sanding sealer > Liquitex Glossies art > Nitro sanding sealer > Nitro clear.
