Those are beautiful. Great work man.

 

Would you mind telling me what kind of paints you use? It seems like you used sanding sealer over the raw bodies, then painted, then more sanding sealer, then nitro? My girlfriend is an artist (actually she does really similar styles to those surf casters) and I got her a bass for her birthday. She really wants to paint it so any advice on the paints would be great!

My paint process is pretty well documented in the thread referenced in the OP.

 

But, as you say, the Cliff's Notes version is:

 

Bare wood > Nitro sanding sealer > Liquitex Glossies art > Nitro sanding sealer > Nitro clear.

 

If I was starting with a finished instrument I'd remove as much of the original finish as I could, then start with the Glossies.
