Members lowbrow
The old Champ 12 1X12 tube combo from the 80's had a butt load of gain on the second channel.
Members peavey_impact
Obviously no Fender amp is going to sound like death metal...... but what Fender combo model have you ever played/owned/ or demo'd were you surprised to find had quite a bit of gain?? You'd be wrong Here are a couple clips I recorded with my Fender Prosonic.....one of my all-time favorite amps http://netmusicians.org/?section=id&value=9814 http://netmusicians.org/?section=id&value=9102 http://netmusicians.org/?section=id&value=9444
Members metallica_00
Supersonic and prosonic as others have mentioned. Of course there are other fenders (bf or tweed reissues) that sound better overall and w/ pedals than the blues jr. I know Mesas are fender-derived but to me the only one that sounds remotely fenderish is the lonestar (which IMO is an excellent amp). I've owned a recto and played a bunch of the others...they have solid cleans but to my ears def a step away from fender, and the drive channels are very preamp distortion based and sound nothing like a cranked old fender. Members notjonahbutnoah
Well if it's delicious Fendery cleans you want and gain that's high but not metal, that's the Mesa Stiletto all the way. My cleans are ridiculous and the gain is great, all you need, but not oober metal like. Just my two cents.
