Members Becker Guitars
Things have been very busy around the shop and I figured I'd post some cool pics of what is going on. More than happy to answer any questions especially lutherie-related stuff. This one's going to one of my favorite players, Jake Cinninger of Umphrey's McGee: Thanks for looking! Members Becker Guitars
stunning... i love the look of your retro grad models.... do you do any with rosewood or ebony fretboards? We build a handful of different models with ebony boards. We don't really use regular rosewood, but cocobolo (an exotic species from the rosewood family) is one of our favorite fretboard woods and you'll see that on a lot of our builds as well. Thanks Sully!
Members kit_strong
Looking good. And I too am a big fan of the retrograd. I expect at some point I will find myself having to choose between a Becker or a Backlund

Members slushpup96
The finish in that first picture is just ridiculously good. You guys really know what you're doing when it comes to that.

That was after the final coat had gone on, so it wasn't actually done the whole process (we still had fine sanding and buffing to do). I sanded it the other day and Dan just finished with the buffing. Now that it's ready for assembly we can take that fretboard tape off:

Members poolshark
Pretty sure I saw a pic of one of these floating around on here - looked like a neck-through with flame maple wings? In that vein, with a maple body, do you run into any problems with weight? Or are your bodies small/contoured enough that it isn't a problem? I had a maple-bodied Telecaster once, and that thing was a chunk.
Members Becker Guitars
This one? Our builds are on the slim side and are heavily contoured, so that keeps the weight under control. Some of the solid maple and solid ash ones get a little on the heavy side, but never too bad. In some instances we do chambering for weight relief as well. It all depends on the preferences of whoever we're building for.
