This makes the most sense, as Specials from that area had bound necks.

Members bsman
Those 60s Jrs are fantastic guitars -- light, agile, meaty tones... I just ordered an SG melody maker (should arrive today) hoping to recapture some of the magic of my first non-crap electric (62 Les Paul Jr. just like the one in the pic above -- bought in about 76 and lost in 77...) Members TattooedCarrot
You can tell by the pickguard shape and lack of binding that it was a Jr. You could put a full size pickguard back on it with a P90 and sort of bring it back; it looks pretty bad in its current layout. Members d0zerz
I'm now the proud owner of this guitar. My buddy and I went in on a bunch of stuff. An old yamaha PA with a pair of fairly new peavey speakers. No idea how good they are but they're loud enough to push vocals over a band which is all we wanted. Then that fender "head" and another PA speaker, and the guitar all for $700. He wanted the most for the guitar so we broke it down to $400 for the guitar (including nice hardshell case) and $300 for the rest.No idea how good of a deal that is but it feels pretty good
