  1. I'm so sorry, Woody. They were beautiful dogs and it's obvious they had a loving home. I'd say more, but I'm tearing up right now. I'm going to go hug my dogs.
  2. I thought it was Adam Shankman? Honestly, I'm just checking IMDb since I recall seeing "From the director of Hairspray" on an ad plastered on a bus I got stuck behind on the motorway. EDIT: Just looked up John Waters. He wrote the screenplay for Hairspray, but didn't direct. I think Justin Theroux and some other guys wrote Rock of Ages. You're both right. John Waters wrote and directed the original version of 'Hairspray'...the one with Ricki Lake and Divine (not to mention Sonny Bono, Debbie Harry, Ric Ocasek. Pia Zadora...). Shenkman directed the godawful remake with John Travolta in drag. AFAIK, the only thing Waters did on the remake was cackle maniacally all the way to the bank.
  3. Doesn't bother me. A few years ago there was a tour with the band that backed Elvis in the 70s. They played the music live, with isolated vocal tracks of Elvis, while footage of him performing live was projected on a videoscreen. You just KNOW somebody is working on an Elvis holgram right now. Like a lot of you, it's not something I'd rush out to spend money on...but acts like Elvis, Tupac, etc. that have a big following who didn't discover them until after they died, you bet they'd love to see a virtual re-creation of them. And can we drop the whole "rap is not music" thing already? I know for a fact I'm older than most of the people here...and I'm expecting any moment to be told to get off somebody's lawn.
  4. One Bourbon, One Scotch, One Beer - Thorogood Boom Boom (Out Go the Lights) - Pat Travers Musta Got Lost - J Geils Band Off the top of my head, those are 3 songs that get played on classic rock stations with extended spoken intros...the Travers and Geils tracks are live. You do realize, this is kind of like posting a thread called "Is this LP a fake?" without supplying pics or a link, right?
  5. I've been fortunate...never had a guitar stolen from me. I could not even consider doing that to someone. A friend of mine had a Les Paul stolen from him when he was 17. A few years later, we ran into a young kid who had an old guitar he was willing to sell. He had inherited it from his dad, didn't really play, and thought it was just a piece of junk. My friend said, "Well....I'll give you $25 for it." The kid was about to take him up on it when I looked at the guitar. It was an old Danelectro with the lipstick pickups. I told the kid he should have the guitar checked out, it might be worth a little bit. My friend was pissed at me for screwing up his deal. I don't understand how you can have a guitar stolen from you and then try to rip somebody else off. Maybe that's just me...
  6. I love that clip. Never gets old. Where on earth does he throw that guitar at the end? I've been wondering that myself...how would you like to be the guy who has the responsibility of catching the guitar? My favorite part is right about 5:00...Prince looks over at Dhani as if to say, "Yeah, I was getting a little crazy there, wasn't I?"
  7. They must have something in the works otherwise why do this? Don needs money for hair dye and George needs money for his 'nutritional supplements'?
  8. The headstock isn't long enough, which puts the logo too close to the edge...but that's one of the better fakes I've seen. Sad to say, the counterfeiters are getting better. That truss rod cover...juuuust a little bit gaudy.
