Members WynnD
I usually play organ with buffalo soled slippers. Socks are better for pedal work, but the slippers work better with breaks.
Members TheDarxide
Can't play in anything but bare feet. If I can't feel the pedals, it just doesn't work for me.

Members jenksdrummer
Jenks, whats the difference you feel with jeans? I only play with shorts, sometimes loose housepants/underpants if its cold. Sometimes nude when were having a particularly good practice... I sweat more
Members Kirk Markarian
I prefer to play barefoot - I can do it in socks and shoes, but playing barefoot on my pedals is akin to me not wearing shoes in the house - just feels proper to me. Plus I feel more connected to the device on a molecular level.

Members John Flynn
I play with just my socks sometimes. I feel I get a little more control that way. But I'm comfortable with sneakers too ...
Members pinkpunkcaddy
I sport the converse low tops and saucony shoes. I need some type of grip.

Members Majoria
I practice all of the above, well, most of the above. I prefer barefoot and next preference is socks but I also practice in two different types of shoes. Occasionally I'll even play around while wearing dress shoes and wearing a full suit. This way I can adjust my technique for the setting as sometimes shoeless is not an option. I agree that drumming with heavy and non-flexible shoes on is like drumming with boxing gloves or old welding gloves (both of which I have) in that it's possible but requires a very different approach and much more practice. Members gbl102
barefoot++; Although my middle toe takes a beating during heel-toe. its not uncommon to have bloody toe(s) after a show. I just can't heel-toe with shoes on... i think my feet are too big.
Members qwertyMan
Shoes! With socks I get no traction at all, and the pedal is a little further away.
Members Thomas G
I find that I usually get more power and maybe speed with shoes on, but my feet ar so big, I need to take off my shoes (or at least my right one) when I use heel-toe. Members theFoot
just had a gig on a house kit (terrible) and a borrowed pedal. i played in sox (instead of bare feet) and it all went great. although it could have been the copious Jack-n-Cokes that made think I was playing well. Members biz
I'm a shoe guy. Played an outdoor gig in the middle of a lake on a barge a few years ago. I played barefoot and got a blister on the bottom of my foot.
