Good thing I save the old one.

:(

I'll have to wait to hear what my bandmates have to say.

I took (I think) the advice of some of the web designers on the board in making the changes that I did. I guess it looking corporate doesn't concern me much. I do know that it is plain looking. My goal was for a more colorful site that is easy to navigate.

:)

I like the progress from the first one, because while this one does look "corporate," the fact remains that it's still a lot better than your original one.

The license plates are a nice touch, however I would've taken it one more step by using a closer license plate font and not had them all sitting straight across.

Color is a tough thing. It goes well, but if you found a couple colors in the same family but popped a little more, it would be stronger.

Sorry 'bout that.

:)

I realized after our gig last night that I'm gaining confidence in my playing. In the audience last night was the old bass player for the band. In the past, it would have likely bothered me. I played my heart out, nodded to him on several occasions and kept the groove going.

As long as you're having fun, it doesn't matter WHO'S in the audience; they can't steal your thunder. That's the biggest buzz-kill for me is when my old singer would come up and say "Dude, that other band's (insert musician role here) was totally jealous of you/me/our guitarist!" I'm sure they enjoy playing as much as I do, so what's the real point?

But, as far as you saying you're feeling better in your bass player skin, WAY TO GO!!! I'm slowly working on that with my six string.

I should hope so---you being a mod with a bazillion posts and all :D

I was actually quite concerned when I saw the thread title. 'Comfortable,' 'play,' and 'skin' all in the same sentence bring to mind a '70s porno soundtrack, heavy on the baritone sax and wah-wah pedal. Maybe Lug could cobble something like that together to celebrate your new comfort level.

(hides from Lug and T-broom...)

It has a good layout, it's easy to navigate and it loads fast. It is exactly what a band website should be. Upcoming Shows, Bios, Song List, Media and Contact Information.

I respect the fact that you took the time to do some learning and put together a good website for your band.

It looks 1,000 times better then THIS (Harmony Central) website and look how many people use it.

Content and Navigation are the keys to a successful website.

Catch my drift ?

+1

I got bored and started screwing around with an idea for the top menu, just to show you another idea to think about.

p.s. - I realize that I'm not the best photoshop artist;)

I didn't use that picture as part of the site layout.

I am trying to figure out how to work it in though as I do think it's a cool picture. The problem thus far is getting it light/washed out enough for the text to be read over it.
