Who has used one and what did you like/not like about it? it is the big one, not the nano. here I think I might get one.

Members guitargod0dmw
I've never used one, but I've heard good things about them. I have also not heard too many good things about the nano line, so I'd be getting one of these big boys if it were me. For $39 bucks...go for it and give us a review! My friend had this black version and it sounded good thru his Bassman when we'd jam. I think I'm a gonna pick it up.

Members Bluescout
I have an american model and like it as well. It has a funky sound but it's a little hard to dial in. Bumping the mids and highs really brings out the sound.
Members fealach
I do not like it on bass. The distortion is especially unpleasant to my ears. I sold it to a guitar player. It is extremely cool on guitar!
Members sunburstbasser
They can sound really good if you want to take the time to tune them. Unfortunately, tuning them requires opening the pedal up, then fiddling with two small trim pots you can barely get at. If you are OK with that, you can get a good, funky sound out of it. I like the tone of the Dr. Q better, but the Bassballs works better for bass. $39 is a great price and you should get one.
Members Undead Sycip
The Bassballs isn't wet enough and is very limited with what it can do even with the surgery. The Dr Q just flat out sucks. I can't believe they actually sell any of those things. Buy these two from places that you can return them.
Members Thumper
I like mine. It works really well with the couple of funky songs my geezer band plays.
Members Roguetitan
some of the reviews written on the page were iffyit would probably be OK for a hobbyist but probably not the best for gigging or recording use
Members jmb374
Mine makes assorted farty sounds. It has it's time and place though. It does have a pretty pronounced pop when you dig in really hard. I've heard the trim pots inside the pedal can be adjusted to reduce this. Members JRoll
Anyone have that link to the Bassballs mod for the trim pots? I used it for the 1st time at a gig the other night and despite turning down my passive bass for the boost that was about to happen, it still came on way too loudly. Thanks. Members chubrocker
Is it SPAM when you comment on the thread?? I have one to sell. With the new MF price, I guess $30 shipped? Like new. I really like it, but I just have not found a use for it in recording or playing lived---just jamming at home listening to myself. Members sunburstbasser
To do the mod, all you have to do is take out the trim pots and replace them with real ones, then drill some holes in the front for them. FWIW, the Bassballs sounds 10x better with a compressor in front of it.
Members Jamacuco
I have the US re-issue version and I love it. Plug'n'play martian weirdness out of the box. I A/B-ed mine's against the Russian version and found no differences, apart from the evident aesthetical ones. FWIW, the Bassballs sounds 10x better with a compressor in front of it. Why ruining the dynamics when the filter reacts to them? I understand putting a compressor/limiter AFTER the EHX BassBalls due to its peaks, but before...?. I almost always run my Big Muff before the BassBalls, and an EQ pedal afterwards to level it out a bit.
Members walkerci
unimpressed by this pedal? Even with a compressor in front of it. It did nothing for me at all. I'll give it another try next weekend.
