Members Optimus Prime
How old is the J bass in the center? I want mine to age like that in the next 5 years.
Members JacieFB
I've wanted a Hooters-Orange P or J bass since '04. Don't know why. I don't really like Hooters(the restaurant), nor am I a big Bengals fan, but I think the color is pleasing.

Members JacieFB
It's from the 70's IIRC... If this is the same poster I'm thinking of, I think the bass is a '77. I've heckled him before trying to get him to sell me that. (I'm a '77 kid myself.)

But a black pickguard would be to Halloweenish.

Members JacieFB
I don't want to wait 30 years for mine to look like that. Get to sanding. Add a tiny bit of varnish to it. Then finish it in nitro. Or, just appreciate your bass for the beauty that it is.

Moderators ThudMaker Posted February 15, 2008 Moderators Share Posted February 15, 2008 Here...are these colorful and ugly enough for you? I don't find those ugly. I've hemmed and hawed about buying the pink one just for Valentine's and Sweetheart's gigs. I'd prefer those basses if they had a maple neck and the green or pink matching headstock. The painted fretboard does gug me just a little from a wear and tear standpoint.
