Moderators ThudMaker Posted June 6, 2008 Moderators Share Posted June 6, 2008 Funny. The test with the buttload of questions showed me to be very close to the middle, yet this one showed me as a hardcore Republican.
Members Jugghaid
Given some of the positions you've taken in this forum, actually, I do find that a surprise. But yes, I suppose that is in keeping with the popular usage of "Libertarian" these days. Positions like what?
Members bholder
Positions like what? I don't have specifics handy, but I do remember quite clearly that your positions on subjects like reproductive freedom / abortion and religious freedom issues struck me as distinctly unconcerned about personal and civil liberties. Not at all. I don't agree with abortion, but I don't think the government shoud be involved in it whatsoever. I believe in religious freedom. But I don't think most people have a clue what they are talking about then they refer to "Seperation of Church and State". It certainly doesn't mean eliminating all religious reference from anything and everything. I have no idea what you are talking about with "reproductive freedom". At all. That's Reproductive Freedom/Abortion...(since Abortion is all about reproduction :poke:) And yeah Bholder, your memory is fuzzy here (read: wrong). Jugg's policy position on Abortion is quite different than his personal moral standpoint and his policy is completely inline with a "true" Libertarian position. Members DaveAronow
Conservative/Progressive score: 3 You are a social conservative. You believe in traditional values, and care first and foremost about your country, your family, and your religion. You dislike the agenda of the left because you see them as trying to destroy these things. Correct. Capitalist Purist/Social Capitalist score: 3 You're a Capitalist Purist. You believe that the market should be completely free, and that the invisible hand of the market will make sure that the people get what they want and will do it in the most efficient way possible. You believe in small government, less taxes, and more privatization. Correct. Libertarian/Authoritarian score: 7 You're a Moderate. You think that we all have certain inalienable rights that must be protected, but that sometimes laws need to be made to protect the majority's lives or quality of lives. You might think that the 2nd amendment isn't necessary anymore because letting everyone a gun is extremely dangerous to the community. You might also be against illegal drug use or public pornography because of its possible harmful effects to society. Not QUITE as correct. Pacifist/Militarist score: 10 You're a Militarist. You believe that since the United States has so much power in the world, it has a responsibility to keep the world safe. You think that if the US does not exert its power in the world, it may eventually lose its power, and that we can not look weak in the face of terrorists, and must take them out where they live. Incoming!!!!! Overall, you would most likely fit into the category of NeoCon Republican Conservative. The word we are looking for here is conservative. Well, we know who conducted this test, when they use words like Neocon to label things or people. Neocon is primarily a derogatory term used by the left to label the right. Members Jugghaid
That's Reproductive Freedom/Abortion...(since Abortion is all about reproduction :poke:) Gotcha. I thought he was saying that i didn't want certain people to breed. That would be true, but I would never legislate it. And yeah Bholder, your memory is fuzzy here (read: wrong). Jugg's policy position on Abortion is quite different than his personal moral standpoint and his policy is completely inline with a "true" Libertarian position. Exactly. My moral beliefs and what I feel should be the law of the land are 2 completely different things in many cases.

Members King Kashue
Neocon is primarily a derogatory term used by the left to label the right. "Neocon" may be, but "Neoconservative" is a term that has been used for self-identification and isn't derogatory at all. It's different than traditional conservative policy. I'm not sure how accurate the "Libertarian/Authoritarian" index is in describing your positions, but what it describes is accurate in describing the "Bigger Govt. Republican" that is described by the term "Neoconservativism".
Members bnyswonger
Neocon is primarily a derogatory term used by the left to label the right. I don't know...it sounds more respectable than "fascist". On the other side of the spectrum they have "collectivist" which is a polite way of say commie, isn't it?
