Members james on bass
I can't believe I found this (poor quality) video. When this song came out in 1987 I had been playing for a few years but didn't have any fretless experience. This song made me made me tear the frets out and go fretless. Members Roguetitan
I think it was the album Frampton Comes Alive that made me go out and buy a fretless.
Members sunburstbasser
I'd heard a lot of fretless music, but what made me want to get good was "Diamonds on the Soles of Her Shoes."

Members Perfessor
I heard some guy named Jaco back in the late 70's that made me want to play fretless. Wonder what ever became of him.

Members ezstep
Mine. I told my wife that she messed up and that I MUST have a fretless, which I bought a year later. Actually, I remember the original by Hall and Oates.
Members Rippin' Robin
This is what set me off on fretless: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jJnyLjZJkEQ At 23 seconds Steve DiGiorgio kicks in with his monstrous 'mwaah'. I'd never heard anything like that before and I was instantly attracted to that smooth sound.
