The problem we were having at the time was that we had several projects lumped on us at the same time so we were pretty swamped for most of the summer. Poor planning as one of the projects was ours (OS upgrades) and we could have gotten started sooner. Most of the time, it's pretty laid back. I am in the corner of the valley where the fires tend to hit. In fact, my street runs north/south and is usually the furthest west they'll allow residents to go as they block it off from there. We haven't had to evacuate in the 5 years we've been here as we're a bit further from the hills and whatnot. It'd take a pretty raging fire to get to us. Still, we've got to worry about the damn ash and hope that it's all dead with no ambers flying. 8-16 hours a week sounds about right on quiet weeks.
