You really can't do much better then that for your budget, though. If you go with it you might need to get serious control over your volume. Maybe a headphone amp (be very careful - they rarely have limiters) and a couple of open head headphones would be better. For band practice, it would be useless. You can find some good deals right now in pawn shops. I bought a set of speakers for 75 bucks I use for rehearsal and PA for acoustic gigs, monitors for the band. My friend Steve bought an old Carvin 300 watt 6 channel powered mixer for 120 bucks that he uses as a gig rig and has for years. Good deals are around.
