Members stangconv
I have an idea that would use the intro and first verse of Dont fear the reaper in a medley. Just need some songs that would fit in with it to make a medley... Drawing a blank on that one haha... So my question is... What songs would work? Members timrocker
Keep it BOC. Do "This Ain't The Summer Of Love" into "Don't Fear The Reaper" and then finish up with "Burnin' For You".
Members Vito Corleone
We used to mash it up with "Burnin' For You", which is really just the 80's arrangement/production version of the same song.
Moderators Lee Knight Posted January 10, 2013 Moderators Share Posted January 10, 2013 Reaper > Donna Summer's Hot Stuff > Venus (the "Burnin' like a silver flame" bit) > Burnin' For You > Reaper
Moderators Lee Knight Posted January 10, 2013 Moderators Share Posted January 10, 2013 As a matter of fact, if you have a guy singer, do the verses to Venus, but for the choruses do Hot Stuff to avoid the gender issue. And mash Burnin' into the Hot Stuff chorus.Like this: Goddess on the mountain top Burning like a silver flame The summit of beauty and love And Venus was her name Lookin' for some hot stuff, baby, this evenin' (Burn out the day) I need some hot stuff, baby, tonight (Burn out the night) I want some hot stuff, baby, this evenin' (I can't see no reason to put up a fight) I'm living for giving the devil his due) Gotta have some hot stuff Gotta have some love tonight I need hot stuff I want some hot stuff I need some hot stuff (And I'm burning, I'm burning, I'm burning for you I'm burning, I'm burning, I'm burning for you) Her weapons were her crystal eyes Making every man a man Black as the dark night she was Got what no one else had Ow Lookin' for some hot stuff, baby, this evenin' (Burn out the day) I need some hot stuff, baby, tonight (Burn out the night) I want some hot stuff, baby, this evenin' (I can't see no reason to put up a fight) I'm living for giving the devil his due) Gotta have some hot stuff Gotta have some love tonight I need hot stuff I want some hot stuff I need some hot stuff (And I'm burning, I'm burning, I'm burning for you I'm burning, I'm burning, I'm burning for you) You know you love it. Members stangconv
I want to start off with reaper, as we'll get someone up from the audience to play cowbell... We have both male and female singers btw

Members stangconv
I'm not too sure Donna summers and Venus will go over that well for us...
Members Vito Corleone
We had "Venus" in another medley and it fell pretty flat for us most nights, so we dropped it, even though I really enjoyed playing it and the way we sounded doing it. Never tried "Hot Stuff", so hard to say. Depends who you're playing for. My instinct is that it is not one of the most recognizable disco-era songs for younger audiences. I don't think most young kids know it the way they know many KC and Sunshine Band or Bee Gees tunes. But for an older crowd, it could work quite well.
