Hey everyone, there's some great musicians here and thought I'd add my 2 cents.

I'm a performing singer/songwriter from VA. I'm currently in the Charlotte, NC area and have some upcoming gigs, hopefully more to come. I write mostly acoustic folk/indie music. If you're into that and want to listen: www.facebook.com/blakleyleonardmusic Links to other sites are there if you're interested.

If you're in the Charlotte area, the Tosco Music Party is June 18th and should be a blast. I'm performing this year which is Beatles tribute themed. I was asked to perform "Something".... Here's video of me performing "Something" along with the rest of the Abbey Road album here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PCXuOulRe94 (fast forward to 4 min).

Thanks, I hope you enjoy.

Love that! Your song is terrific, but the cover of Roads is something else. Great vocal!

Hi everyone! I'm new to all this, and have enjoyed reading the forum the past couple of days. I play in an all-girl cover band in Baton Rouge, LA. We're pretty inexperienced and are just playing a few times a month for funzies. I've learned a lot just by reading a few discussions on the board! Hope everyone has a great day! oh, here is our band if anyone wants to take a look. Don't be too harsh, please smile.gif

Welcome my fellow Louisianian. Checked out your Facebook page. Really good. I like your little mashups that you do. I'll have to keep an eye out for when you're playing and check y'all out.

I'm not giving you a pass because you are four attractive girls playing covers, but considering your experience and your take on the song, I enjoyed that alot. I like the "unplugged' aspect of the band (I checked out some others like "Take It On The Run") and in my market you would find a great 'college age' niche. I can see the potential as you get more experience, confidence... but for playing just for 'funzies' I think you are off to a good start. :theu:

We are: Mittenfields

I just joined the band late last year (one of three guitarists). But it's been a lot of fun so far.

We have been jokingly described by a friend as "Pavement covering My Bloody Valentine ... poorly." But in all seriousness, we do combine elements of 90s indie/college rock (Pavement, Built to Spill, etc) with some shoegaze/feedback guitar fun.

We will be self-releasing our first EP "The Fresh Sum" on July 26. The tracks are available for a listen here:

We also have a Facebook page, and will soon have a more "official" web page (just a splash page now)
