Members les_rokr
well, can it? I mean, it makes sense.. just plug the output of the unpowered mixer into the input of the powered mixer.. I just don't wanna end up blowing anything up though..

Members bassred
yes, he's being serious.. some units might even have a 'power amp input' on the front, which usually just uses the master volume control, but if you run into a channel, then you can take advantage of the EQ and such as well (in small doses...) We ran our monitors like that back east in one band I was in.
Members W. M. Hellinger
sorry andy, this time i cant tell your seriousness apart from your sarcasm!!you being serious? Andy winks just a little when he's being sarcastic. (Andy: You'd make a lousy poker player). No wink... it's straight up solid advice. Watch for the wink. Members agedhorse
Yeah, I tried being sarcastic without the wink before and it didn't go over too well... (Yes I was being serious. Just watch the level matching)

Members tlbonehead
yes but you must use Kustom speakerswink But remember, the ones you get from GC and other music stores are a lot higher quality than the ones that MF sells, right? Members coyote-1
I do this too. We ran our monitors like that back east in one band I was in. Powered mixers are very versatile. They are ALL the PA you need for small gigs (lounge duo, for example), and they can power your monitors in bigger situations.

Members Singin' Dave
It's called "slaving" the powered mixer. Simply run a line from the output of your passive mixer to the "amp in" of the powered mixer. Or go into a channel of the powered mixer as described above...but again, as Andy said, watch your level matching
