Members agedhorse
It's more expensive for manufacturing, but in the long run it's a better approach IMO. It's how we do all of our products and it virtually eliminates intermittent connections at the controls as well as feeling so much more robust. Your GB amp is built that way. Members seadoogsx1996
So for example: Amp Crown MicroTech 2400: 8 ohm = 520W per channel 4 ohm = 800W per channel 2 ohm = 1050 W per channel JBL MRX515: (Continuous / Program / Peak) 500 W / 1000 W / 2000 W How many JBL MRX515 can run PER CHANNEL of Crown MicroTech 2400 ? Members seadoogsx1996
So MRX515 =500W at Crown 8 ohm = 520WWhat if run 2 MRX515 = 500W + 500W at Crown 4 ohm = 800W.What will happen ? How do you calculate matching between speaker and amp ?
Members agedhorse
In theory, you could run 2 and each speaker would receive ~525 watts before the amp clips (provided you have adequate AC power) and with 1 sub, the amp will deliver ~800 watts at the clip point. It's a 4 ohm load per box.
Members seadoogsx1996
How about the same speaker and amp.If I run 2 ohm load, it means:04 MRX515 ( 8 ohm per speaker, so 4 speakers = 2 ohm ) PER CHANNEL of amp. What will cause ?The amp don't have enough power for 4 speakers PER CHANNEL or amp have over power for speaker ? CROWN 2400 = 2 ohm = 1050W PER CHANNEL

You could run 2, 3 or 4 speakers per amp channel.
Members agedhorse
You can also power a speaker at LESS than the RMS rating if it delivers enough SPL without clipping. This is exactly what happens when you turn the volume down. I have one installation with ~4000 watts RMS worth of distributed speakers flown but only power it with 1000 watts RMS and still have ~10dB of headroom. For this application, 1000 watts is more than enough.

Members tsaldana3
if you are not going to pass the drums through monitors.... why not use a seperate little mixer for the drum mics? I know it's not the best way to do it, but better than having to buy a behringer mixer......

SIX vocalists!!! I THINK the SR24 has a couple RCA ins for the break music player and the keys COULD run in mono to save a couple channels (or use a submixer IF they know how to set & match volume on the different patches, I know that's asking a LOT ;>) Oh, yeah. Isn't this Behringer one of those 24 mic channel, 4 stereo line in boards? Boomerweps
Members seadoogsx1996
6 vocals mic = 2 MC + 2 singing + 2 for instrument player sing. I think I have problem with Drum, if I have advise for how to reduce the drum mic. I want to have seperate Drum kick, and snare, + 2 electric drum. CD & DVD I want to use line in, so it take me 2 lines. I try to avoid Behringer board, If I can keep my Mackie SR24, it's best option for me. Does Submix = use small mixer to group all drum mics into 1 or 2 ouput to main mixer ?
