I would lime to have some feedback, is it an entry or intermediate level bass, what is the s/h value. It is a bass from 1990/94.
Moderators daddymack Posted July 20, 2023 Moderators Share Posted July 20, 2023 I never heard of a BB200...is it a BB1200? The 'neck-through' version? That is a very nice bass! Is yours active? The BB bass line kind of died off in the mid 90s, but many notable bassists endorsed the line in the 80s/90s. They are perfectly good basses. Yamaha was comparatively slow getting into basses, but they found their footing with the BB line, as they did with the Pacifica guitars. Some HISTORY... Moderators isaac42 Posted July 21, 2023 Moderators Share Posted July 21, 2023 I did some looking. Seems there was a 200, as well as a 300 and 400. I got the impression that they were low end basses. Not bad, I'm sure, just not high end stuff.
Members excitron
I have a BB300. Dunno about the 200, but the 300 is actually a decent bass, save for the non-humbucking pickup that buzzes if you're not touching the strings. Sounds really good tho, and the original strings that came with it back in the 80s had an incredible tone. I have to assume they were Yamaha strings, never found any tho.
