Wiring my first guitar build

Hello, I'm new here.

Could someone draw up a wiring diagram for me. I have no idea what I'm doing. I was originally going to follow an excellent youtube video that showed step by step what needs to be done but my original plan slowly changed.

This is what I have:
neck pickup: Gretsch filtertron
bridge pickup: Fender tele noisless pickup
4way rotary switch for:
 • bridge
 • bridge/neck parallel
 • bridge/neck series
 • neck
volume tone pots (both 250k)
And of course the jack

I have zero experience with any wiring or guitar wiring and this is my first build. My dad will be helping me with this. He has way more knowledge with wiring but he doesn't seem to understand how to make this set up work with the rotary switch.

I also can't seem to find a wiring diagram online that may be useful for my dad. Any help is greatly appreciated!!

To the best of my knowledge, you can't do that with a 3 pole 4 way switch. (in the middle of the switch, you have 3 big lugs. 3 pole. Basically cuts the switch into 3rds.)

A 2 pole 4 way switch will do it, or a push pull switch and the standard 3 way pickup selector. Here's the wiring with a 2 pole 4 way rotary. Quite simple, and works wonders with single coils and P90's.

This diagram shows how to do it, with a 3 way and a push/pull switch. (Ignore the coil tap, you can't do it anyway.)

The scheme you're wanting to implement is the same as "Telecaster super switch wiring."  The 'super switch' is a 4 way telecaster-type blade switch that enables the neck/both parallel/both series/bridge selection. The blade-type pickup switch IS a rotary switch, just with a reduced range of rotation. So this diagram will work with a rotary switch once you figure out the common and switch terminals for each switch "wafer." Note that you'll only need to use two of the three poles. And of course the volume, tone and output jack are wired the same as a telecaster too.

I can draw schematics, but they're useless to most people. If  you want a pretty picture diagram Guitarelectronics will make you a custom one, for a FEE of course.

However, it does appear the pictorial diagram for the rotary switch wiring is correct.

Yes you can, you just don't hook anything to the third pole.   The diagram you linked to in Guitar Electronics isn't at all what the OP is looking for.
