If someone wants to use a costly mic, they are welcome to provide it. I'll be happy to plug it in... I like the Beta-58, SM-58, Sennie's e835 and e935. EV ND767. Not that there aren't wonderful products for more money, but I don't find there to be a proportional increase in ROI to justify the investment at my admittedly low level.
