Members chaparro
Hi, I have a Trademark60 (Tech21) since 10 years ago. So "my problem" is that every time I find a marshall tone with eq in the loop effects of the TM60, but my ears every time say to me "isnt the marshall tone". Now I saw a Marshall mosfet lead 20 from 1985 and I dont have any possibility to try it, but the question is... A Marshall mosfet is better than my TM60? Its a good buy? Or maybe I need to buy a JCM800 of seconda hand or same. Thank U and sorry for my english
Moderators daddymack Posted February 23, 2020 Moderators Share Posted February 23, 2020 If you want the Marshall sound, go get a Marshall. But get a tube Marshall, forget the mosfets, hybrids and the other solid state models. Your Trademark 60 is a great amp, but you are right, it is not going to give you the sound of a Marshall. Members Ancient Mariner
I've had a Trademark 60 for about 15 years - TBH it actually sounds like a high quality Marshall MG series: not a bad sound, but not astonishing by any means. A good valve amp will sound significantly better, although it may be heavier to transport.
