Members johnbarnesiii
Thanks guys, makes sense. Aside from the synth-bass tones that will be coming out of a bass amp, the virtual synth sounds that we'll be feeding through the PA are mostly in the mid-range tones, so the K12's should do ok with these. Members speakerjones
Most of the better, modern, powered speakers have angles built in so you can either use them as wedges or on stands as mains. Using them as wedges might be a good plan depending on how many you have, 100 watts though? That's woefully underpowered for any kind of band situation nevermind a loud rock band. I don't think you can even find an amp or powered speaker rated at 100w anymore, but if you find one, don't buy it.
Members speakerjones
Just another thing you may want to consider, as you don't seem to be afraid to throw some money at this - in-ear monitors. You could save your hearing, and become a better band with them.
Members ski219
Hey Tomm, it was actually the older SRM450's, the first version Mackie made. Any idea of the wattage of those versus say the QSC K12? I have the same speakers and use them for mains. You guys must practice super loud.
