The two amps have a different feature set, otherwise based on similar core technology. I have found the PLX's to be much easier to repair when necessary however. Thats kinda where I'm at.That GX-7 does 1000 watts at 4 ohms,the 1804 does 900.The 1804 is like a stripped down PLX series amp,almost like its the predecesor of the GX series.No bridging,no 2-ohm loading...
