Members Gordon Sound
I respect not wanting to do outdoor gigs, if you do outdoor gigs you need to be prepared. I did a gig that ended up being very wet and the band wanted to use my tarps. Hated to do it but i had to be a "not my problem, get your own" as I had just enough for my gear. Dont make assumptions! I was renting a u-haul one day and came across mattress bags, they cover a stack very wellhttp://www.uline.com/BL_158/Mattress-BagsYou can also get chair bagshttp://www.uline.com/BL_120/Uline-Poly-Covers http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from...s+bags&_sop=15I can usually a couple gigs out of them
Members RoadRanger
Yep' date=' my last outdoor gig promised tent coverage, and all of it went to the guests and catering. No rain, but the band and I were royally pissed as it was blistering hot and humid.[/quote']I'll pack my 10x10 if there's any doubt of coverage. Big enough for me, my bass rig, and maybe the drummer if I don't want him passing out on me in the sun . Maybe one or two more if I'm feelin' kindly towards them. The rest can fry, especially the idiot that booked the gig and didn't front it properly .
Members RoadRanger
Oh, and BTW one nice thing about my big folded horn subs is that they are naturally rain-proof. My Peavey Impulse 2012's are too. Just gotta gaff up the connectors. But I haven't had that rig out in a couple years, too heavy for what folks are willing to pay around here . I gig my RCF 310a's over Danley TH-Mini's outdoors, it's surprisingly loud outside and all anyone is willing to pay for anyways. Trash bags work fine on my stuff, sure is easier to carry a roll of them than a bunch of tarps. Great to hear that most of you are getting a premium for outdoor gigs and get paid at least 1/2 if it cancels - not gonna happen at my level . I really do try to turn down outdoor sound gigs that aren't on covered stages but got talked into a couple this year .

Members RoadRanger
That's the power drop. The tent is permanent for the summer so we really didn't want to mess with it.
