Members jtr654
I don't see anything on the page but the Dimarzio PU I think you're referring to will fit in a P90 slot.
Members burton4snow
Yeah that is what I meant. I have GFS Mini's in there now so I know I can fit mini's in there, but what I don't know is if Dimarzios will fit in the GFS rings. Also is there rings for Dimarzio and Seymour Duncan minis and where can I get them
Members WRGKMC
GHS pickups are made by Artec and they match the Gibson Mini HB's in size. So do the Dimarzio so any rings that fit the GHS will fit the Dimarzio. These Gibson rings are used to make a mini humbucker fit a P90 hole. http://www.allparts.com/assets/image...47-028-web.jpgHow its done is a bit tricky. The key item Gibson uses is threaded metal bar screwed to the bottom of the pickup hole which the height screws screw into. https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4006/...94a4984c_s.jpg The other thing is the threaded tabs on the pickup are drilled out so the screws don't grip the tabs. They originals use a nut under the plastic surround top and nuts above and below the pickup tabs that are soldered into place to keep the pickup positioned within the pickup surround constant. Then when you screw into the bar at the bottom of the hole, both the plastic surround and the pickup move up and down in height. Newer surrounds use either an extends tab or a nylon spacer between the surround top and pickup tap so only one nut is needed to mount the pickup to the surround. http://brawer.com/2012/01/robs-upgra...i-humbuckings/ Since its nearly impossible to find that metal bar (which is likely a key factor to getting body tone) many use thin P90 wood screws instead of machine screws to screw into the wood below. Here's what substitutes for the metal bar in some guitars. http://smg.photobucket.com/user/zeeg...lates.jpg.html These rings were used on guitars like the Epiphone Rivierahttp://thumbs4.ebaystatic.com/d/l225/m/mjnIKWQBGwVzxmAP5UZ9lFQ.jpg and these are the Firebird type rings http://www.guitarpartsresource.com/i...C-5764-010.jpg You can also find adaptor rings for standard HB routes. http://www.strat-talk.com/forum/atta...nihum-cm-1.jpg
