Sorry, I think that was Pat Metheny. My bad. I saw Pat Martino on a TV show called Studio Jams
:thu:

I saw that too. Holy smokes, even next to Bela Fleck he was cookin'.

Go on over there a talk to him. He seems pretty talkative.

Isn't that an amazing show?

Unfortunately I don't have time at the moment to talk to him. :(

Hopefully there will be another chance.

Indeed I saw that one. He's incredible. With Victor Wooten and Roy Wooten.
There's a kid who plays in a similar way. His name is Zack Kim, and here he posts as Nuno_Bettencourt:

I also remember seeing Joey DeFrancesco, Vernon Reid, Derek Trucks, Jimmy Haslip, and Larry Carlton. Great show.
I can't remember the name of one person who played mandolin on one of the shows. Very talented people, and it shows they have worked hard at their craft.

Maybe in 10 more years I'll be able to come up with something intelligent to ask Pat Martino!!!

I will save the link you posted and will read it in the future :)

Pat Martino sounds like a very spiritual dude.

And that part about relearning guitar after getting amnesia is quite interesting.

But how do we know its really him?

Of course the Internet holds many mysteries in it's tangled web.

Maybe it's a Dataline parady where they substitute and old man with a teenage hottie ;)

I have no reason to beleive t's not him. Are you familiar with allaboutjazz.com? It's legit.

Yes, it must be him.

One of my favorite musical quotes came from Pat Martino: (paraphrasing)

"I see the instrument not as something to be conquered, but as a discipline to see life through."

I always remembered this at first because I thought it sounded real deep. But as I've matured, it begins to make more and more sense.
