I've never heard anything about some guy named Ed Roman. I've searched the web and harmony central and can't seem to find anything about this Ed Roman guy? This is so strange.

I checked out the Black Box. It only lets you do guitar and has about 99 drum beats. I want to be able to write my own music like bass, keys, horns and other instruments and then record my guitar on top of it so I can practice soloing/ improvising. What else is there?

I'm looking for a wide variety of guitar effects and I need to have the ability to do keyboard effects and sound effects...basically what frootly loops can do. Is there one package that all of this comes in, or do i need to buy separate?

I want to be able to plug my guitar directly into my computer so I can record myself playing without any background noise. I live in an apartment so I need to be able to play through my computer and then through headphones. I'd like the software to have the ability to write songs, like make up a drum beat, add a bass line and keys, then I can record my guitar on top of it and have a close to mp3 quality recording of myself. My price range is limited to around $300 What do you think is the best? I was looking at the M-Audio USB Fast Track, but it looks like it got terrible reviews...
