Members thetrooper9
I hybrid pick and I cant seem to get my fingernails right. i want to be able to quickly arpeggate chords. My nails are either too short and i end up using my finger tip or too long so that they catch the string and slow me down. can someone post a pic so i can see what i need to do with my nails? Members 1001gear
While you await the nail porn, I have an Epi nylon that spent a couple years on a long time ago. What I discovered is that for most mortal picking, the nails don't have to be long at all. Most of the nail tone can be produced from a rest stroke just grazing the string as it snaps by. I can see your issues are with sustaining arpeggios vs breakage though. (?) A buddy from the old days solved this with ceramic extensions from a salon. This only just worked for classical. Another bud just uses Alaska picks.

Members Santuzzo
I never used nails for picking on my jazz guitar. I don't hybrid pick that often, but for comping I do use my fingers more often than the pick. I think I prefer the sound this way rather than the sound of picking with nails.
