I don't think it is harmful morally, and I agree that MOST of the stuff that used to disgust me in the past still disgusts me today. After a decade of porn or more of watching porn, i still have ZERO desire to ever try anal, for instance. And i have never blasted on a girl's face, and I don't think i ever will.

I think true porn addiction would imply a physical reaction to withdrawal, in this case an inability to stay aroused when you jerk off. I only see it as a problem if it becomes a definable inconvenience to your life, for instance you live with your parents and the computer is in the living room, and your inability to properly satisfy yourself without porn turns you into a raging asshole.

 

 

3. If porn is so evil, then how do we explain other modern cultures where porn is not a big deal at all, and nudity and sex are just every day aspects of life. Rumor has it many college initiation ceremonies in countries like Sweden involve co-ed nudity that would drive American college boys to the brink of bruising masterbation. Who really is healthier?

what are we talking about? like those programs that monitor internet usage? i wouldnt' know, but i'd tend to think that most adolescent teens are smarter than their parents when it comes to computers. And the desire for porn will overcome all obstacles.

 

I think parental controls are the same as any other type of discipline that doesn't involve communication. Perhaps a parent that is more open about discussing sex and being more laid back about his son/daughter's exposure to it will nurture a child that doesn't need parental controls.

 

But since i think we both agree that porn is ultimately not really harmful (if it is, there is still no reason to single it out), so it's hard to rationally discuss whether parental controls works.

 

 

 

but I am interested in real, respectful, level-headed and spirited debate from those who disagree. I am not interested in insulting or belittling anyone. I just want to hear how other people feel about it.

 

 

The only slightly negative opinion i have about porn is that it is kind of misleading. Pleasing a girl is an art, and every girl is a whole different world, and it is usually quite unpredictable. With porn, it is just a series of positions one after another, at a pretty consistent thrusting speed, and i have yet to have been with a girl that wouldn't be turned off or completely bored with that kind of behavior (at least on a regular basis).

 

I don't think this is a big problem, because I think most intelligent and conscious males can realize this upon their first real sexual experience.

I would say you're incorrect.

The idea that sex and the body are dirty and obscene is what hinders our sexual development.

 

the fact that this mindset holds sway over our nation actually makes it easy for artless interpretation of sex to flourish.

if everyone were more open about their sexuality, what purpose it serves, and viewed the body and it's functions as a thing of beauty and grace, then porn would be revealed for what it is - clumsy, artless pandering. Half of porn's appeal is that it's "forbidden." I mean..if you doubt me - go have a look at how a good percentage of it is marketed.

If the stigma was taken away, only the truly repressed would seek it out.

The most shocking thing was that he told our entire class all about it.

It varies, I have been consistently surprised by the differences in ideas from one girl to another about specific sexual details.

 

I accidentally did the face thing once, and there was like a moment of dead silence, where I didn't know how she would react.
