However, I think overall Canada is a tad more liberal than the States, and that might be due to the French influence. Good or bad? I don't know....but nothing can be worse than poutine.... Poutine is actually quite satisfying as a late night snack after an evening of binge drinking. On it's own, it's probably not that great, I'll admit. But to truly appreciate it I think you have to try it when you're a kid (and don't give a {censored} about your weight) rather than as an adult culinary experience. In that setting it's bound to disappoint. As for the Canada = USA theory, I don't really see it. Two cultures politically speaking. Not to mention the differences in culture within Canada itself (from east to west + Quebec, which is predominantly French speaking and with culture of its own).
