If I get a brief "oh that is interesting" moment at the end of hours of rather dull and confusing reading has it been a worthwhile experience? Of course there is no definite answer for that question, but as I get older I feel like I want to be entertained a little more. I like the bigger picture, the interesting deeper ideas, but I like to enjoy the ride too. I wonder if anyone else feels the same?

  3. I'm reading CATCH 22 at the moment. Not sure I'm enjoying it that much.
  4. Edited for truth..... I think your song does a better job of showing it off... ... glad to hear it hasn't packed up yet, you know you have a lifetime warranty on that thing yeah??? Really? Fabulous!! Seems to be holding up pretty well and is on our bassist's board at the moment. Had a LOT of compliments over its sound.
  5. Melx made me a 'Lost Souls' version of the Sodameiser and when recording this song we used it on bass, one of the rhythm guitars and also for the solo which is double tracked. All guitars were played on an epi dot and the amps were an AC30 or just direct with a POD XT live. [video=youtube;6oauQi1YFnE]
  6. For live: ZOOM UF-01 In the studio: Melx made Sodameiser or an FZ-2.
  7. Dude, how about that spider video? i can n ot bring myself to even scroll near it. Where do spiders like that {censored}er exist? I'll never ever {censored}ing go there. Looks fake to me.
  8. I think some of the heaviness comes from the distorted bass adding a sort of metallic clank, but yes, its bigger sounding than I expected too! I'm really chuffed with your comments mate, thanks so much for them.
  9. You guys sound {censored}ing great! Just went to Reverbnation and heard your track "Leave the light on". Good stuff. When you touring the U.S. ? We have no way of being able to afford that right now.....we just don't have the profile or access to hook up onto any tours there. We'd love to do it, but until we make the right contacts its not going to happen, which is such a shame. We have an EP out in a week or so which i'll be pimping and hopefully someone will pass it into the right hands...but who knows? Thanks for taking the time to listen, I really appreciate it.
  10. Wow! I'm impressed. Love the guitar sounds and great song, (souned a bit Black Keys to me) and a really cool video, entertaining couldn't help noticing that there seems to be a music lovin' crowd over there. and great venues as well and some plugin advice to top it off also pedal Cheers mate! All the recording is done on a 10 year old desktop PC with an ancient copy of Cubase SX (version 1). The crowds in Asia seem a lot more ready to give you a chance. If you put some heart into it they respond and don;t care too much if you're the coolest, hippest thing, just are they having a good time. ....and yes Cirrus, i like the kjaerhus stuff, but just use the freebies. I used the Classic Delay all the time on the 'new tape' setting mostly. I still rate PODs really highly for recording, they are just so easy to use and I'm yet to have a massive issue. From time to time i'll mic a real amp as I did with this song, but i;d say 70% of our guitars and bass are with the POD. There'sa nice Fender model on there that used with the same board as i use live just works really well. This is the board. Crybaby --> Whammy IV --> Ibanez DE7 ---> Bad Monkey ---> Zoom Ultra Fuzz ---> Boss TR-2 --> LPB-1 (in the pic i think i still used my now broken microamp) ---> Marshall Reflector ---> Korg DT-10 tuner.
  11. Yep, Blockfish is my go-to compressor for character. I use a cleaner one for straight compression, but Blockfish is pretty much perfect in my opinion for rock n roll.
