A guitar that 'loud' would restrict you from playing certain songs because ou couldn't be taken seriously. I mean, what style could you get away with with that guitar? Ska?

 

Paul Gilbertesque shred. Hence, his signature guitar.

 

I like ridiculous guitars, but I'm not a fan. It's just ugly.

Dont let your guitar regulate the styles that you feel you should be allowed to play.

Fair point, but if you're touring with Clapton, and you pick that guitar up when it comes to playing 'Tears in Heaven', he'd be like 'what the {censored}?!?!?'

 

I'm not touring with Clapton.
