Members DLDude
I'd have to say Chorus. So cheesy and 80's
Members PFDarkside
Chorus doesn't have to be cheesy and 80's. Granted I only own one chorus and a ton of Flangers and Phasers, but still... Most effects can be terrible or awesome, it's all in the hands of the user. However, 80's hair metal chorus is pretty bad.
Members johnrambo
i dont' care for wah all that much but that's just me. there are people who really know who to use them well but i'm not one of them and i don't really care to be. Members EvilSoup
Well, it may not be the most popular, but Ring Mod would have to be the worst. I would pick an octave up pedal anyday over a Ring Mod.

Ring mod however is possibly the most un-musical effect.
Members only_shallow
^Yes, typical distortion is boring as hell.

Members AaronF
I really don't like flange. It typically sounds too 'over the top' for my liking. I have heard some instances where I like it, but other than that it is just too distracting to use. IMO, of course.
Members Dr.Mayhem
Boss Metalzone. I CANT believe it sells so much. Most people like it until they hear a decent distortion.
Members BadRonald
All of them when used too much. I play with a couple guys and they over delay and chorus everything. Drives me crazy. I use a touch of chorus and a little delay and I love the effects. Everything in moderation.

Members Surrealistic Brillo
I'd have to say Chorus. So cheesy and 80's Depends on how you use it and what model of chorus. I'd have to say the Boss DS-1.
Members Surrealistic Brillo
flanger. Yeah...I've only heard two flangers I liked...The EH Deluxe Electric Mistress and the FoxRox TZF.
Members only_shallow
Flanger can be usefull. The Cure style reverb is awesome, when used in minimal quantities and as a part of a song. Flange+Tremolo sounds amazing. Airplane swoosh on flangers can be usefull when used in one part of the song, lets say a bridge. Like on Dino Jr's freakscene played live. Members only_shallow
I'd love to turn on Phaser+Trem+Flange and some delay... That soulde be godly.
Members TomCTC
Definitely flange. The only instance where I've heard it sound cool is maybe some Rage against the Machine. A nice Ibanez DFL deep flange is neat. I don't like the screeching airplane sound. That and any sort of "metal distortion" pedal.
Members angelhair0
Most flangers sound like teh ghey. I like the Boss Hi-Band. For flangers that are "too much" for me, but still sound awesome, the Hash Browns is surprisingly awesome. I'm sure the Flanger Hoax is cool, but that's just getting into flanger territory that I dare not step in.
