Members bmast160
boomerang iii is supposed to be recording at 20 bits vs. 16 in the 2880. does that mean the fidelity will be better?
Members cloudscapes
yes. it will sound more detailed in many cases and will hopefully have a lower noise floor. I owned a 2880. it was awesome! sold it cause I needed the funds and I couldnt get it to fit in my method of playing. I'm really looking forward to the rang III
Members bmast160
yeah but you think the boomerang iii will be better? i like the 2880...but its a pain to have on a pedalboard...with the footswitch.

Members NITEFLY182
I imagine the Gibson EDP is higher but its been around for a while. Let me check. EDIT - nope its 16 bit. Looks like the Rang III will be the looper to get when it finally comes out.
Members cloudscapes
I have not tried the rang III, but what is appealing ot me abotu it is that the three layers of loops can be unsynched (or synched) for some really neat textures! everything is synched on the 2880. depends what youre after. 2880 has panning, midi and more tracks. rang III is more freeform, slightly higher-def, probably easier to use. I'm also hoping it has undo
Members NITEFLY182
It has undo. Im getting a Rang III as soon as they are out which should actually be soon now.
Members bvester
How big is the boomerang III going to be? Most likely comparable to a two story building or maybe a jet plane?
Members NITEFLY182
Its much smaller than the rang plus actually. A little bigger than a dd20
Members SUPER VELCROBOY
also is there anything that records higher than 20 bits? go down to where it says "sampling" http://www.box.net/shared/33cs2a39r5
Members tim gueguen
20 bits versus 16 isn't likely to make a huge difference in the end when you're running it through a guitar amp.

Members kriista
I'm mostly exited about the multiple loops + tweakability in a small footprint. I've been thinking of moving on from the DL4 as my looper and I hope the new boomerang will fit that bill.
Members SpectralJulian
Personally the visual layout of the 2880 makes it seem much more user friendly to me, which is its main appeal IMO, it looks like a 4 track recorder/mixer. Members jorhay1
20 bits into a 24 bit DAW bounced to a 16bit Aiff or mp3hmmm. the rang III still doesn't have midi? or does it?

Oooooh mama! is it still going to be designed for easy foot tweaking?
Members kriista
It's hard to tell from the layout pictures on the webpage. Theres only 5 buttons, 2 of them being 'bonus' buttons, the other 3 being labeled loop1, 2, 3. As long as you can record, overdub, reverse, octave, and stop without having to bendover, im buying it if you can switch to other loops and do any of that stuff from your feet, im buying it even more
