Members Raskolnikovs axe
holy crap can they make stuff sound good! i've always been a home recording guy, but this time around we took our home recordings in so they'd be professionally mixed and mastered and what a world of difference it makes. i'm so excited. that's the console - it's a lot more impressive than my digi002 rack! give a listen if you want here http://www.myspace.com/trainsfollowedus what's really exciting to me is that we achieved this quality while still recording at home - just going there to mix is a great balance of affordability with high sound quality and the freedom to take the time to get things just right. Members Raskolnikovs axe
i'm just talking about pure sound quality. all the recording i do is based off of self-teaching and reading the forums here, so having somebody who really knows how to EQ and compress stuff to make it clear and punchy is great
Phil O'Keefe
that's the console - it's a lot more impressive than my digi002 rack! It's a Yamaha 02R96 - nice board. Are they tracking to Pro Tools? BTW, if you want recording suggestions and advice, feel free to stop by the Studio Trenches forum here on HC and ask away... Congrats on your positive recording experience.
Members Raskolnikovs axe
we were just mixing, not tracking, but yeah they're running pro tools on the mac on the left. we just brought in an external drive and loaded the sessions up on there. the PC on the right is running something i hadn't seen before called WaveLab i think. it was crazy watching the guy there work the board too...he was just flying over the thing and the keyboard faster than i could believe
