  1. What is the average wage in America? The figures people are quoting seem to be extremely high! I think the average wage in the UK would work out at about $40,000 but most graduates will have a lower starting salary. The minimum wage would be about half as much or less. I'd probably be happy with the equivalent of $30,000 or something but I don't have an indulgent lifestyle or any responsibilities. I think I would feel extremely wealthy with any more than that, at least initially! I'm more concerned with the nature of the work and having enough flexibility/time to accommodate my other interests. I'm not sure but I'm under the impression it's in the $30-$40,000 range
  2. I've been supporting myself as a waiter for the last 5 years, working only 15-25 hours a week and pulling in the neighborhood of 20k a year while I spent the majority of my time playing in a band, but I'm in school now for electrical engineering now and the average graduate with a bachelor's in EE from my school starts at over 90k. I feel very comfortable living on what I make now, so that jump is going to feel like winning the lottery.
  3. For the most part, you guys all seem to make way more money than me and I don't understand how you say you're barely getting by. I made 17k last year and have never made more than 23k and I do just fine. What some people define as necessity is just ridiculous to me.
  4. .999... indicates an infinite number of terms in the series and yes the as the number of terms approaches infinity, .999... converges to 1.0, but this is not the same thing as stating .999... = 1.0 This. Thank you.
  5. infinitely close to 1 = 1 nope.
  6. .999... Has been proven countless amounts of times to equal 1. Endless amounts of mathematicians have gone to prove this. No, it doesn't equal one, and no, nobody's ever proved that. It is, in a sense, infinitely close to one, but it does not equal one. This very significant difference is the cause of all your problems it seems to me.
  7. Fender Custom Shop Prosonic I am no longer playing in bands so this amp is just too much for me. I'm selling it to fund the purchase of something low-wattage. It's in excellent shape - I just had it in to a tech to check it out and replace EVERY tube. It's got JJs in the preamp and Sovtek power tubes. This particular amp is one of the first 250 made in the custom shop before they started mass producing them. It is in great shape and has no more than extremely minor wear and tear. If you're not familiar with the Prosonic, it's a classic Fender clean channel combined with a versatile, extremely hi-gain Boogie style lead channel. The gain channel has two cascading gain controls. The amp also features active EQ and built in spring reverb. You can switch the rectifier from tube class A, tube class AB, and solid state to get a wide variety of tones. Asking $750 shipped. I have more pics - email me if you're interested - but I don't want to clutter the thread too much.
