Members rossowj
What overdrives or distortions do you guys use to compliment the muff? and what do you like about those overdrives?
Members TeamoDave
I use a Little Big Muff mostly for heavy, dark rhythms but when I want to solo, I kick on my Toadworks Lil Leo (after the Muff in the chain) and it adds some definition to the notes and brings it out front in the mix. Members Rocket Roll
Little Big Muff ? -> Boss BD-2 (if I'm "drowned" in the mix), as suggested by Bjorn from gilmourish.com. I have yet to experiment with this setup, but it echoes Gilmour's live rig (as far as Muff is concerned).
Members Noise...
The Double Muff works quite well on single mode with a Big Muff. The LPB1 is great as well.
Members Moltisanti
Tonebone Hot British for nice chunky rhythm and the Little Big Muff for long drawn leads or just for all out dirt
Members jacobarber
i throw my Bad Monkey into my Little Big Muff, and it sounds {censored}ing fantastic. If not that, then I throw my SD-1 into the LBM for a boost. Both of them sound great
Members TheGareth
Is there a difference, soundwise, between the Little Muff Pi and the Big Muff Pi?
Members SirJackdeFuzz
For me it depends on the song, but i love any of these after my NYC Big Muff : BD-2LPBDouble MuffRAT . . . they all sound good, just depends wich one you prefer ! Members SirJackdeFuzz
Is there a difference, soundwise, between the Little Muff Pi and the Big Muff Pi? Someone wanted me to believe that the LBM is very-very slightly dirtier/gritier, with a minute touch more mid's. Or maybe it is the other way 'round, "it is slightly dirtier, because it has a minute mid bump, compared to the NYC Big Muff". Anyone else heard this ? Members Fenderman1991
I have a BD-2, Micro Amp, and Sovtek Big Muff Pi for my dirt section, and I never use any of them with the Muff. It's just too much of a beast. I'm afraid to. Ha, there is just so much gain. But I have my sustain on max... Anyone ever try a LBP or Micro Amp with a Muff? What's it like. Members comfortablynumb
I like to stack the Russian muff or my Skreddys with a Catalinbread Silver Kiss. Smooths them out and makes them a bit fuller

Members rossowj
Muff with Rat covers pretty much everything. i'm glad you said that. I'm obv looking for a rat (my sig). I figured it would be the best combo. I have a modded sd-1 on my board now, its just too thin sounding to be on the same board as a muff imo. Members spaceshot
i like a little rangemaster or silicon fuzzface(axis fuzz type) before a bigmuff. Superfuzz goes without saying. Bluebox
Members harpua6
I go TS9 (clean boost) into the Big Muff Pi. Gives a nice lead with sustain for days.
Members melx
Is there a difference, soundwise, between the Little Muff Pi and the Big Muff Pi? the two newest re-issues? They sound slightly different, but it isn't a massive difference...they both sound like muffs, I would happily use either. but if you are talking about this little slice of Pi....now that's a different story! Members Fenderman1991
This thread has inspired me to try some stuff out today. Members Michael Patrick
Personally, I like to have the Muff at the end of my distortion pedal lineup so that it's own special Muffiness shines through.... But there are no rules, so do what sounds best to you. I used a '67 Arbiter Fuzz Face to drive a Ram's Head Big Muff on the solos on this tune.... One of my more favorite combos.... . Members Prehistoricpain
I usually run my byoc with skreddy mojo parts and the creamy dreamer mod with the gain on max, which if you heard, you would know why I dont need to stack it with any pedals anymore. Members mrweems
SKREDDY : MAYO / soon to be zero. I usually use the BM as a wall of sound or solo kind of thing. I find that if you stick some kind of Treble boosting OD pedal into it, it tightens up a bit. I use a hotcake/Eternity. Just depending on whats going on and then kick it on. The hotcake is less noticeable.

Members Fenderman1991
i'd really like to know how this goes It went great! Both were so pleasing that I had to move around my chain to accomadate it. The BD-2 boosted the high end and took away the average tone and replaced it with a very pleasing solo tone and/or busting out. I liked it when I played some stuff with the BD-2 on, and then busted in with the Muff for like a chorus or something. The Micro Amp didn't really alter it as much as expected, but it did add gain and slightly bring out some more highs. It's a very pleasing sound.
