I had a dream last nighti saw his pedal board (yes i am sad) and it had a Mellowtone Wolf Computer on it! ha I saw them at wedgewood rooms a few years back, I like them but I found the drum machine really annyoing live....it was really loud. Yeah he has some great garagey tones going on......I think the melxowtone will be good for that kind of stuff.
Members Marmoset King Posted June 3, 2008 Members Posted June 3, 2008 Yep, love The Kills. Seen them a couple of times, first time around about the time of the first album at the Roadhouse in Manchester - really good gig.

Members friction Posted June 3, 2008 Members Posted June 3, 2008 good {censored}...he does have a cool slapback tone. Not sure what he uses though. The album art inside No Wow shows an old Selmer and some other cool amps.
Members newstrat60 Posted June 3, 2008 Members Posted June 3, 2008 I had a dream last nighti saw his pedal board (yes i am sad) and it had a Mellowtone Wolf Computer on it! haMan I had a completely different dream about the Kills :poke:
Members p90teleman Posted June 3, 2008 Members Posted June 3, 2008 GREAT band. One of the contemporary true greats.
Members Philly Fuzz Posted June 3, 2008 Members Posted June 3, 2008 I like them ok. I have a couple of their albums and was into them for a bit. Some really cool garage-y songs, nice thrift store instruments, etc. But, man, they are the definition of uber-hipsters!... and a tad pretentious... lol.
Members avapxia Posted June 3, 2008 Members Posted June 3, 2008 I fried my little brains on The Kills.
Members orangesix Posted June 3, 2008 Members Posted June 3, 2008 my girlfriend likes the kills, i however think its crappy, girly, powerpop. cant stand it

Members orangesix Posted June 3, 2008 Members Posted June 3, 2008 I dont see the powerpop thing, but agreed i dont think it is genius.I like the 'sound', just wish they took it further., i honestly havent even given it much of a chance...they're just one of those bands. some of my friends are big into Pretty Girls Make Graves, but i also think that sounds like girly, powerpop no like
Members Vince Posted June 3, 2008 Members Posted June 3, 2008 Yeah - I heard "Superstition" on a trailer for a Channel 4 series last year and got the first album (I think) off the back of it. A bit like PJ Harvey but angrier!
Members p90teleman Posted June 3, 2008 Members Posted June 3, 2008 first two records are terrific - great bluesy-garage sounds and excellent SONGS too. Powerpop? No way. No Wow is just awesome bone dry dark blues paranoia.
Members friendlybunny Posted June 4, 2008 Members Posted June 4, 2008 Hate the lyrics, and the singing style. Love the guitar riffs, tone, and the drum machine. The attitude is so leather jacket "tough."
