Members bluehuricane
if you had an amp with a reverb sound you didn't care for, would a different reverb tank give you a different sound? is it easy to retrofit a new tank in? for example, crates don't always get the best rep for having a good reverb, could i put a fender tank in instead? Members 3red
it's probably the same tank to begin with and the difference is in the amp circuitry
Members bluehuricane
oh... so the tank doesn't affect it as much as the circuit? hmm... i was really wanting a palomino.. i guess i'll have to demo the verb some other time.
Members timeforheroes
i agree that the curcuitry does play a huge role. i had a vox ac30cc. the reverb sucks. But i threw $35 for a new accutronics reverb tnk and the improvement was worth the money.
Members bluehuricane
^oh cool! that's what i wanted to hear! cause tanks seem to be pretty inexpensive and i'd be willing to shell out 40 bucks or whatever to see.
Members echodeluxe
it depends. i did the same with my ac30cc with nominal results. it has a lot to do with the amplifiers reverb driver and recovery circuit.
