Wowza...

Always been a fan of them, but never got to see them live... but wow Calebs tone is lush!

ES-325 into a Matchless DC30.... hmm i got a Vox AC30 and a Burny Les Paul, maybe that sound is the semi hollow sound?

No video of it on youtube yet but ill keep looking, anyway, anymore info on their rigs? FX?

Too bad they suck.

There. I said it. All of HCFX can take turns punching me in the balls now.

He does have cool gear though

No, you're right, they're {censored}ty, just like all the other bands out right now. Copping a hip, retro "style" and using lots of vintage gear doesn't make you good.

Defunct "Post Punk" band Help She Can't Swim, took the piss out of the garage rock scene quite heavily a few years back.

Of course, they were fully aware of the fact they were an arty indie band, thus being tagged on LastFM as "i assume it is being rhetorical"

Sample lyrics:

you couldnt hold a drink to save your life

it's a mercy that none of you can drive

just strut around pouting and looking wide eyed

like this is britpop circa 1995

but Menswear split and Pulp are gone

and now everyone likes garage rock

you dance like a dad at a disco

what would morrissey say?

put your face around on a night on the tiles

it's all charm and bad toothed smiles

as long as your tapping your toes then its alright

all the underage girls are digging your style

and your pointy leather shoes are a {censored}ing lie

as long as your tapping your toes then it's alright

you dance like a dad a dad at a disco

what would morrissey say?

/off topic pondering.

sorry.

The 325 and its mini-humbuckers are pretty much all you'd need into the AC30. Especially with the bridge pickup and Top Boost channel. I use my 325 into AC30 with the band and it reeks KoL tones when used that way.

Ooooh nice!

Mate i tried sniping an Epiphone Riviera with gibson 57s in it last nite, but my bloody sausage fingers screwed up and i missed my bid!

Anyway... lots of hate for kings of leon here  strange, i think they have been a fantastic, consitant, ever changing band.

Maybe im not hip anymore?

Didn't you hear? Un-hip is the new hip!

The KoL connection almost put me off buying the 325, especially since I've used the AC30 since '03, really glad I got it though. The pickups have similar output to my Tele, more treble than 'buckers and lots of jangle and chime to the bridge with that trapeze tail. Gratuitous ES-325 shot...

Holy {censored} that song & band are EPIC WIN!!

The fact they did it a few years back is even more pwnage on all the crap nowdays! :thu:

Britpop bored me senseless in 1995 :bor: , and the re-hashing of it nowdays is even worse.

14 years is way too early to be "retro".

30 years, MINIMUM.

Not 14, not 24
